This year the festival is anticipating times and changing skin transforming itself from street art festival to urban festival. A change not only of name, but of concept of the whole review, that will evolve adapting to the urban language’s mutations that will face.
To celebrate such important passing there is going to be Isaac Cordal, spanish artist -1974 class- among the most talented in the contemporary urban scene, whose little statues of the “Cement Eclipses”’s project, emblems of the precarious condition of modern man, will invade the little town of Gaeta and neighbouring land. Indeed, also in the 2016 edition will be involved many towns, continuing the urban regeneration through Art that from years Memorie Urbane drives forward and that has already involved in the past editions different towns.
On that wake goes on the the growth of cultural exchanges and interactions between the territory and the many many international artists that will be leading the 2016’s edition that, beyond the work on the walls will see the realization of installations, shows and events.
Isaac Cordal will be the first to open the new line; the urban installations will be a bridge to his first italian personal exhibition with which Memorie Urbane inaugurates Street Art Place; the virtual gallery (http://www.streetartplace.com), born as a support to the festival and where is possible to buy the works of the artists, double itself becoming also a real place. A place where to exhibit, to know and get in contact with multiple expressive forms that stands as a reference point for enthusiastic and artits.
The vernissage of the show “WELCOME” of Isaac Cordal is for the 13rd of March at Street Art Place- Urban Gallery, piazza Traniello, Gaeta Vecchia.

Quest’anno il festival anticipa i tempi e cambia pelle trasformandosi da street art festival in urban festival. Un cambio non solo di nome, ma di concept dell’intera rassegna che si evolve in linea con le mutazioni dei linguaggi urbani che andrà ad affrontare.
A celebrare l’importante passaggio sarà Isaac Cordal, artista spagnolo -classe 1974- fra i più talentuosi della scena urbana contemporanea, le cui piccole statue del progetto “Cement Eclipses”, emblemi della precaria condizione dell’uomo moderno, invaderanno la cittadina di Gaeta e i territori circostanti. Anche nell’edizione 2016 saranno infatti coinvolti molti centri, proseguendo il lavoro di rigenerazione urbana attraverso l’arte che da anni Memorie Urbane porta avanti e che ha già coinvolto nelle edizioni precedenti diverse cittadine.
Su questa scia prosegue il crescendo di scambi culturali ed interazioni fra il territorio e i tantissimi artisti internazionali che saranno protagonisti dell’edizione 2016 che, oltre ai lavori sui muri, vedrà realizzazione di installazioni, mostre ed eventi.
Isaac Cordal sarà il primo ad inaugurare la nuova linea; gli interventi urbani infatti faranno da ponte alla prima personale italiana dell’artista con cui
Memorie Urbane inaugura Street Art Place; la galleria virtuale (http://www.streetartplace.com), nata come supporto al festival e dove è possibile acquistare opere degli artisti coinvolti nella rassegna, si sdoppia diventando anche spazio fisico. Un luogo dove esporre, conoscere e venire in contatto con molteplici forme espressive che si pone come punto di riferimento per appassionati ed artisti.
